2025 SPRING SEASON

U6 (DK/KINDERGARTEN) - 7v7 Small Ball

This format is put forth by US Lacrosse which is the governing body of lacrosse in the US. Small ball creates higher IQ by condensing the field. It creates more touches for each player in practices and in games with smaller teams. It creates better stick skills as you are forced to pass in smaller spaces creating a need to react faster. This is how Canadians play the sport mainly through HS! Because of this Canadiens have higher stick skills in general compared to American players.

Small ball format (USA Lacrosse Recommendation)

One hour practices at ERMS starting at 5:15pm

4 sessions:  Tuesdays starting on April 29th and May (6, 13,20) SEE CALENDAR

  • Tuesday/practice & Wednesday/scrimmages (one hour each)
  • @ East Rockford Middle School Time: TBD) 
  • One Festival Tournament - King of the Hill in Forest Hills

  • 2 or 3 Teams of 7v7 - TBD based on signups
  • Practice begins March 2nd (Sunday) @ CedarRock Sportsplex - SEE CALENDAR
  • Outdoor practices @ East Rockford Middle School will begin as soon as weather permits in March.
  • 3-4 lacrosse days per week M-T-W-TH for practice/games beginning the week of April 14.

  • 2 Teams - Black (Competitive) and Orange (House)
